Happy First Date Anniversary

Six years ago today Brandon and I went on our FIRST date. I know I have already shared what we did that day however I will never forget how excited I was to get to go out with him. Little did I know he would be interested in me and we would get to be together forever. I feel really lucky to have him and love thinking about the first time we ever went out. I still remember exactly what I wore, a salmon, pinkish colored shirt with fitted jeans and cute black shoes from urban outfitters.

My Dad turned 56 on Sunday! I hope you had a great birthday and I am excited to come visit and have some yummy homemade ice cream in your new ice cream maker we all got him for his big day.

Summer School Break

The summer semester ended after the first week in August and fall semester does not start back up until August 30th which means I have a BREAK! I called my super fun cousin Carol-Lyn and asked her if she was up for a short vacation, of course she was. She drove down from Provo on Saturday and stayed until Tuesday.

Brandon took us out to Rosa's Cantina in Old Town Temecula, for some yummy Mexican food and Carol-Lyn ordered some very delicious nacho's.
Carol-Lyn helped me sew an ENTIRE QUEEN SIZE QUILT in just 2.5 days! I think we may have set a record. We had so much fun staying in our PJ's all day, watching one chick flick after another and eating yummy treats and spending time chatting with each other.
We FINISHED! Just in time for Carol-Lyn to take it with her to Utah so it can get stippled. I am really excited because the quilt can be reversible.
This is the BACK of is a huge quilt, I am going to use it as my bedding for guests when they come to visit me. Next project will be matching APPLIQUED PILLOW CASES.

To make sure we got out of our pajama's at least for a few hours, Brandon took us on a fun hike Sunday afternoon along a slow flowing river in Fallbrook.
It was not a hard hike but we still had a great time talking and being in the great outdoors.
MONDAY NIGHT...

It has been a tradition for the past 3 years for Carol-Lyn and I to go see the Lake Elsinore Storm (a minor league baseball team) every season. So on Monday evening we enjoyed a fun evening of baseball & people watching.
It was an amazing night for a baseball game, the temperature was JUST PERFECT and it was a FULL MOON. We had a great time rooting on "our team".

The perfect way to end our fun vacation was to indulge in some delicious comfort food from Richies Diner. A trip to Temecula would not be complete without going.

THANKS CAROL-LYN FOR COMING TO VISIT US & HELPING ME SEW SUCH A DARLING QUILT. LOVE YA TONS!

Being part of a special event

Ever since we have been married Brandon has been serving in the primary. He has loved being able to teach the sweet simple messages of the gospel and make so many little friends. One of his friends Anson Pulsipher turned 8 and asked him to say the closing prayer at his baptism. It was such a special day and we are grateful to be there.

Brandon was recently released from a long 5 plus year stretch serving in the primary. I know he is sad to not teach such darling children anymore, however he will be great working with the 15 year olds in Sunday school.
