David Archuleta

My friend Laura and I went to the David Archuleta concert, what a BLAST! It was down in San Diego at the Del Mar County Fair.

We walked around the fair for a few hours and sampled lots of really unhealthy fair foods, we are holding of course DEEP FRIED BREAD PUDDING. I am glad I only go to the fair once a year because any more than that could really get you into trouble.

This was the view from the right of the stage. This picture doesn't do it justice, there were so many more lights from the rides, it was pretty. The conceret outdoors and the weather was PERFECT.
I could have listened to him all night. Probably the fastest concert I have ever been to. He did a fabulous job though, WAY FUN!

After the concert we decided to take an ELEPHANT RIDE. Now I can say I have done it all. I can't believe how big they are, and to be honest I think elephants are cuter from a distance.

Now you can enjoy a taste of the concert.

New understanding

I finally figured out why I really never saw my mom eat any of the delicious food she would make for us. Daily she would whip up pancakes, eggs and bacon for breakfast, really yummy dinners and side dishes and seriously she would just watch us eat it. Now I get it... FOOD TASTES so much BETTER when SOMEBODY ELSE makes it.

For dinner I thought Mexican food sounded good so I made homemade salsa, guacamole and chicken & shrimp fajitas with beans and rice. It was going to be a feast and so we invited Geoff and Doc Walker over (Vicki was out of town). After what seemed like pretty much all afternoon and evening, dinner was finally done, but I was OVER IT. I had been looking and thinking about it too long and dinner just didn't even look good to me anymore. I really just wanted to eat a bowl of special K and go to bed. Oh well...it was worth it because it was fun to have the boys over and tell me dinner and dessert was good. I am grateful for all the yummy food other people cook for me and now I understand why you don't eat any of it!

Mud Run

On Friday my cousin Rachael and her friend Maury drove over from AZ to run in the Camp Pendleton 10K mud run. We woke up at 6 on Saturday and drove down to Oceanside to the marine base. It is so pretty down there and it was a beautiful morning for a run. We arrived just in time to get in line and start the race along with 4,000 other people who were running. We had a blast running together, there were walls to climb over, a lake to swim across, big barrels to crawl through and of course a lot of mud to run and alligator crawl through. The mud smelt like manuer but I guess it was all part of the experience. Thanks girls for letting me run with you, lets do it again next year even faster!

Summer Vacation

We finally made it back to Utah after 6 long months of no vacation. This had to be the longest school semester of my life and it finally ended on Monday June 1st. Brandon and I left for Utah Wednesday afternoon. We were both way over due for a relaxing vacation and most importantly, I had a new niece and nephew I needed to meet and play with.

Brandon went to watch the BYU football players practice, to the shooting range and on a 30 mile horse ride up the mountains. They actually saw and came within 10 feet of a mama black BEAR. He had an awesome time. It was great to get to spend time with family. Brandon and I had so much fun and always hate it when we have to leave Provo.

Swimming... Swimming...
and more swimming! My parents have a fun backyard with a great pool and spa. I probably spent most of my time swimming with the little kids and eating delicious food.
I had to post this darling picture of Jimmy and Bryce in the (as us Utah people say) "HOT TUB"!
We couldn't go to Utah and not have Sunday dinner over at Grandma's. She had everybody over and it was good to get to visit and catch up with the extended fam.
My grandma has the most gorgeous rose bushes in FULL bloom. She looks so darling in the apron I made her for Mother's day!

Tepanyaki! Need I say more?

Baby Avery is so precious I could have held her all day long. She is so little!

Strawberry jam

For young womens I taught the girls how to make homemade freezer strawberry jam. After we finished making it we sampled it with biscuits and then everybody took home a jar. What a great way to kick off the summer!

Dirt Bike Adventure

Brandon's cousin, Garret, invited us up to his families property in South Temecula. There is a small house with a bunch of property you can ride dirt bikes, rangers, 4-wheelers and shoot guns.

It was my first time on a dirt bike and I decided I like 4 wheelers a lot better, but it was fun.
Brandon and his little brother Brody loved shooting guns together. I guess its a guy things.

I loved going on a crazy ranger ride. It felt like a fun ride at Disneyland. Brandon's cousin handed him the gun and hat for the picture, he thought it would make him look more tough.
Although technically dirt bikes seats two, I don't think I will ever want to ride on the back of one again. It was NOT very comfortable, but it was fun while it lasted.
