Anniversary Cake!

August 25th was the anniversary of our 1st date 4 years ago. For our first date Brandon took me to eat dinner at Mimi's cafe and to a movie (I even remember what I wore). Brandon surprised me and ordered a delicious, tripple layer, butter cream, berry cake from the bakery at Pechanga, which was amazing! He also took me to Mimi’s Cafe for dinner which was delicious as usual. It was really thoughtful and a very fun surprise.

Venice Beach

Tommy, Richard and Courtney came to visit us over the weekend from Vegas. We had a lot of fun. When they got here we were all starving so we went over to Claim Jumper. Even though we might have had the worst service of all time the food was delicious! After dinner, Geoff hooked all of us up with free improv tickets at Pechanga. I thought Brandon and Tommy were going to literally die from not breathing they were laughing so hard. We all had a great time. Even though we have a small apartment we managed to fit all five of us in just fine (thanks to Richard who happened to have a cot in the back of his car).

On Saturday we decided to go see the freaks in Venice Beach so we piled 6 of us into Richards Nissan Rogue and drove 65 mph all the way to Santa Monica. It was a long road trip down there but well worth it. After walking up and down the board walk we rented beach cruisers and road up to the Santa Monica pier. Riding bikes is so much fun especially next to the ocean! When our time was up and we had to return the bikes we piled back into Richards car and drove up to 3rd Street Promenade to walk through the outdoor shops and eat some dinner. It was a fun filled day followed by another very long and slow drive back home.

We were all exhausted from our day at the beach and decided to sleep in. After we finally got up and got ready for the day we went over to a local diner in Temecula called Richies to get breakfast. Immediately when you walk into Richies you can't help but have a smile on your face. The restaurant in decorated from ceiling to floor in Red, White and Blue. All of the workers are dressed to resemble the fourth of July. Right when we sat down, our waitress bless her heart, ran over to our table. She gave us all a slip to fill out for the drawing which was about to take place. She collected them and a few minutes later we heard them over the PA trying to sound out a name. Finally they got out "Brandon" and couldn't even read the last name to butcher it. Brandon went over to them and sure enough it was his card. He won $100 gift certificate to Richies Diner. We were all so excited! If you are ever in town Richies is such a fun and delicious place to eat! After Brandon and I hurried over to church and when we were leaving my battery died. Luckily we had friends in town that could pick us up and take us to Wal-Mart to buy a new battery. Later that evening we watched some fights on TV and around 8:30 our friends had to get back to Vegas. It was such a great weekend. We love it when people come to visit.
