Camping on the Beach

My sisters Becky and Brooke planned to camp at the Carlsbad State Beach for a week. I was so happy because it is only an hour from my house. Although I did not get to sleep over night, I got to eat, swim, learn to surf with the gang and still take a NICE HOT SHOWER and sleep in a real bed at the end of the day. Thanks guys for coming, it was so good to see you and I had a BLAST!

HOME SWEET HOME

Right when I took this picture a huge gust of wind blew the campfire smoke right to the boys, poor gavin. I guess they say smoke follows beauty and he sure is!

The last night of the camping trip we had a feast of hamburgers and hotdogs, chips, fruit, smores and dutch oven apple crisp. The burgers were fun to cook right over the fire and tasted SO YUMMY!

I tried surfing for the first time ever and it wasn't a complete disaster. I ACTUALLY GOT UP for a second. I am such a water skier I couldn't get the hand of riding the surfboard sideways, I was always facing forward which obviously does not work. It was a lot of fun and very hard, a week later I still have plenty of bruises to prove it.

27 years old

I love Birthday's and am always so excited when somebody close to me has one. Today is BRANDON'S 27 BIRTHDAY and I have been excited about it all week long.

Birthday Breakfast: WARM PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFIN
mmm...

I wish we would have had time to sit down and eat together with all kinds of other delicious breakfast food, but oh well... next year his birthday will be on a Saturday so maybe then.

I also want to WISH my nephew LINCOLN a HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY TODAY! I hope you had a great day playing and celebrating your day. Blow out lots of candles. Love you kiddo...

CHOKE-LAHOMA

BYU! BYU! BYU! What a way to start off the football season. BYU (#20) vs. Oklahoma (#3) Final Score 14 - 13 BYU sneaks in to win in the last 3 minutes of the game. For those of you who know what a HUGE BYU FOOTBALL fan Brandon is, you can imagine how BIG AND HAPPY his SMILE was. I wish I had a picture of his expression when the clock ran out and "David beat Goliath", it was better than a kid on Christmas morning.

We watched the game over at the Walkers house and enjoyed lots of yummy food and snacks. After the game was over the win stiell did not feel real to either of us so we watched replay after replay and listened to cougar radio for about an hour after the game. Even that wasn't enough so on Sunday afternoon, ESPN replayed the game and we rewatched the ENTIRE thing and was just as excited and anxious the second time around.

My dad was able to go to the game and experience the HUGE win, in person at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas. Part of me wished Brandon could have gone with my dad since he is such a loyal, dedicated BYU fan, but the selfish part of me was SO HAPPY I got to watch such an AMAZING game with him. I am sure we will be talking about this win for a long time. I am really excited for the rest of the season, BYU football is the BEST TIME OF THE YEAR!

Bouquet of Pencils

It definitely does not feel like the FALL SEASON since it is OVER 100 degrees outside, but college football has begun, Halloween decorations are for sale in stores and SCHOOL has STARTED. I was especially excited to start school this year because I am finally back at a UNIVERSITY and a COUGAR again! Its NO BYU don't get me wrong (however the mascot at San Marcos is also a COUGAR- yippie) but at least its not the community college. We moved to California before I finished my degree at BYU and had to attend a local community college over the past year, in order to gain California Residency.
On Monday 8.31 was my first day of school at California Sate University San Marcos I am taking 5 classes which will keep me EXTREMELY busy, and like all but 1 so far. I am very happy I can get an education and look very forward to the day I will GRADUATE. I am only a Junior so I have no reason to get excited now, but this time next year THE END WILL BE IN SIGHT!
